Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

A cookie is a set of data that is sent by the web server to the user’s browser and stored by the browser on the user’s device (computer, tablet, cell phone, or others), can be read or later retrieved by the server. It allows the web portal to store some useful information within a session or in subsequent logins that the user makes.

Use of cookies in the portal?

Yes. Cookies are used to improve the site and to provide services and functionality to users. You can restrict or disable the use of cookies through your web browser. However, in this case, some features may become inaccessible.

Why do we use cookies?

Cookies can be used for different reasons. In some parts of the portal, cookies are essential and without them you could not, for example, navigate properly. In other parts they are used to get useful information to provide special services; in addition, some external (third-party) services may need to install special cookies on the user’s browser in order to provide the relevant services.

What types of cookies are used in our portal?

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such a service” (see Article 122(1) of the Privacy Code). They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into:

  • Navigation cookies

They are used to record data useful for normal navigation and enjoyment of the site on the user’s computer (allowing, for example, to remember the preferred page size in a list). Such cookies can then be distinguished by reason of their persistence on the user’s computer into:

  • Session cookies, those that are automatically deleted at the end of each navigation;
  • Permanent cookies, those that have a longer life.
  • Functional cookies

These cookies allow the portal to remember choices made by the user to optimize functionality. For example, functional cookies allow a user’s specific settings to be remembered, such as country selection and, if set, permanent login status.

Third-party cookies

Some functionality is achieved by making use of third-party services, listed below.

These services produce cookies that are linked to services provided by third parties. The third party provides these services in exchange for information about the user’s visit to our portal. It follows that third-party cookie providers are also obliged to comply with the relevant regulations. For this reason, we refer to the links to the web pages of the third party sites, where the user can find the cookie consent collection forms and their related disclosures. If services are provided by indirect contacts with third parties, you will need to consult the sites of the parties who act as intermediaries between us and those third parties:

– analytics cookies: The site uses an additional Web Analitycs Italia (WAI) information collection system as part of the site services published in the YourEurope Portal in order to provide the European Community with statistics on user access. The information also collected by this type of Cookie is anonymous and does not identify you in any way as WAI uses IP address anonymization of users by default. Read WAI’s privacy policy. Such Cookies do not require the User’s prior consent to be installed and used;

How do I disable or remove cookies?

Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can set your browser not to accept them, either automatically or upon request. We do not recommend such deactivation as normal browsing may be impaired and some or all functionality of some sites may not be available. If you do not want your computer to receive and store cookies, you can change your browser’s security settings.
